EP 28- Creating Your First Lead Magnet

Oct 15, 2019

All right guys today we are talking all about lead magnets. Now you might be asking yourself what exactly is a lead magnet. Well if you go back and listen to Episode 19 you will hear me talking all about email marketing and how to get started with email marketing and one of the things I talked about in that episode was creating a lead magnet basically a lead magnet is anything of value that you are exchanging in return for someone's contact information.

So usually you're looking to get their email address so that you can add them to your email marketing list. Now the most commonly magnets you've probably seen and have fallen victim to are the ones that tell you to save 10 or 15 percent off your next order. So when you go to Web sites such as The Gap or Old Navy or Sephora they're going to have a pop up screen that comes up when you land on their page offering to give you a discount on your purchase in exchange for your email address. Now I'm sure some of you are...

Creating a successful business has always required a lot of hard work and effort. Although in today’s world, there are so many extra steps you must take to ensure your business reaches a big audience. Social media is going to be one of the main places to market because it’ll reach anyone and everyone. Facebook business groups provide your consumers a personal experience to engage in and learn about your company. It’ll definitely take more than just creating the page and letting people find it on their own. This is an in-depth guide to creating a Facebook group and information on using it to its fullest.

The Process

Groups are great because they give you a place to reach your consumers in a more feasible and personal way. Creating a group is very easy and can be done in just seconds. Email Marketing 101

Email Marketing 101
As a business owner you have probably heard that email marketing is a great way to reach your target audience and get more business. And it's true! But when you are first starting out, setting up an email list, designing emails, and coming up with something to say can be a little daunting.
And you may be wondering where the heck you should start or if it is even worth your time.
Email Marketing has some powerful benefits, but to be successful it has to be well thought out and carefully managed. In this post we will look at some of the basics of email marketing - how to get started, how to build your list and what to say in that first email!
Step 1: Find an email provider
You probably already have an email provider that you use for your business emails - Gmail is the most popular one. While using your current email provider will work, it isn't the most effective way to send emails to a client list. We want to work smarter...

The Business of Blogging

Mar 23, 2019
When was the last time you wrote a blog post?
What was it about?
This is the question I ask a lot of my mentoring clients when they start talking about their lack of new client inquiries or ask for marketing tips.
The response they give usually goes something like this:
“I have every intention of blogging, but then I get busy and forget. And I have no idea what to write about. I was never a good writer so I feel like it wouldn't turn out very well.  And who is going to read it anyway? Is it really that important?”
Sound familiar?
This used to be my response as well. I used to hate blogging. I felt like it was a waste of time and something that only stay-at-home moms did as a way to share their toddler nightmare stories and homemade granola bar recipes (there are some great homemade granola bar recipes out there by the way!).  I didn’t see how blogging was going to help my business.

The Mind of a Shopper

Mar 23, 2019
How much should I charge?
This is by far the most popular question among small business owners. Everyone has their opinion on how thing should be priced, what type of business model is best and what your product is worth.
In reality, it's not up to US when it comes to making these decisions. The REAL determining factor should be your ideal client. They should drive your pricing, business model, marketing plan....just about every aspect of your business.
Yes, this is YOUR business, and you should have a say in how it's run...BUT you are in the business of providing a product for someone else, so their opinions matter just as much as yours.
So the real question should be...
What type of shopper are you trying to attract?
I like things that are simple, and coming from an a elementary teacher background it's how my brain works. So when I was asked to describe my ideal client I thought of her as a type of shopper/consumer...

Work From Home Survival Guide

Mar 06, 2019
It was a random Tuesday morning around 10am. I had taken a personal day from my teaching job and was out running errands. Between stops I decided to run into my favorite coffee shop and grab a quick drink.
As I stood in line I looked around the room at the people sitting at the tables. There was a table of older gentlemen dressed in polo shirts and khakis that were probably headed to the golf course after their coffee stop. There was a college student with headphone and a laptop most likely finishing up an assignment (and browsing social media). And then, there were the women....
One was sitting in an oversized chair with her laptop out and notebooks on the table beside her. There was the table of 3 women chatting. They were dressed in yoga pants and cute tops that probably hadn't seen a gym that day. And then there were two women sitting in the corner deep in conversation.
All of these women were about my age, and as I stood there all I could think about...
